LAMDA
EXAMS
At APA, we work alongside The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) to provide practical examinations in either Acting or Musical Theatre grading. Our students attend weekly sessions to learn skills and prepare for solo examinations which follow the LAMDA Acting or LAMDA Musical Theatre syllabus, giving students the chance to explore scripts, characters, and songs in a fun, focused and supportive environment.

LAMDA Exams are prestigious performance-based qualifications that help young people grow in confidence, communication, and creativity. Designed to nurture both skill and self-belief, LAMDA Exams are recognised across the UK and internationally for their role in developing expressive, articulate performers.

CLASS INFORMATION
Our LAMDA Exams take place on Saturday mornings at 9am. The class is an hour long and includes a group warm-up, acting and vocal exercises, and focused syllabus work. This structure allows students to build strong technical foundations while developing their individual pieces in a supportive and creative environment. Working as a group also helps boost confidence, teamwork, and energy.
CLASS COSTS
Our 1-hour sessions cost £8.75 for Grades 1–8 and £6.75 for Entry Level. We also offer private lessons if your child would prefer to prepare for their exam on a 1:1 basis, allowing for more tailored coaching and support. Many children begin their LAMDA journey around age 6 and continue progressing through the grades right up to age 18, leaving with a strong foundation in performance – whether they're heading to university, drama school, or simply taking those skills into everyday life.
WHY WE LOVE LAMDA EXAMS!
Students gain experience in storytelling, emotional connection, and stage presence, while also building self-discipline and resilience. These exams support both personal and educational growth, and higher grades (6–8) carry UCAS points, making them beneficial for university applications. Whether a student is pursuing the arts professionally or simply building confidence, LAMDA provides a recognised and rewarding framework for progress.
